May 24 – Mary, Help of Christians: Protection and comfort in difficult times

On May 24, the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of Mary, Help of Christians —a title steeped in a long tradition. This feast day was introduced in 1815 by Pope Pius VII in particular, in thanksgiving for his liberation from Napoleon's captivity.
