May 29 – St. Maximinus of Trier: Confessor of the Faith

May 29th is dedicated to St. Maximinus of Trier – one of the most important bishops of the 4th century in the German-speaking world. He was a contemporary and supporter of St. Athanasius and worked tirelessly to preserve the true faith against Arianism. Maximinus was not only a theological defender, but also a courageous shepherd who protected persecuted fellow believers and championed the unity of the Church. His courageous confession made him a symbol of steadfastness in the faith. He is still venerated today, especially in the Trier area.
